AM Drywall & Construction is an owner operated drywall company serving Barrie, Simcoe County, Dufferin County and the GTA. As a residential and commercial drywall contractor we handle the full scope, from metal stud framing through boarding, taping and finished paint.
DRYWALL INSTALLATION
Board hung square, screwed off to spec and cut tight around outlets, boxes and openings. Moisture resistant, fire rated and sound rated board for renovations, new builds and commercial fit-outs across Barrie.
METAL STUD FRAMING
Layout, track, studs and blocking framed straight and plumb so the board and the finish that follow sit flat. We frame partition walls, bulkheads, ceilings and openings in steel stud, and set blocking for cabinetry, grab bars and TVs before the board goes on.
DRYWALL TAPING, FINISHING & PAINTING
Drywall finishing to Level 4 or Level 5 depending on the lighting and the finish going on the wall. Joints taped, coated and sanded flat, corners run straight, plaster repairs blended into existing surfaces, then primed and painted. Critical lighting is where cheap finishing shows.
SUSPENDED (T-BAR) CEILING INSTALLATION
Suspended ceiling grid laid out from centre so border tiles come out even, wires and hangers set to code, and tile dropped in clean. T-bar and acoustic ceiling systems keep electrical, plumbing and mechanical accessible above the ceiling, standard in offices, clinics and basements.
WELDED FRAMES & DOOR INSTALLATION
Hollow metal frames set plumb and square, welded and ground where the spec calls for it, then doors hung and hardware fitted so they swing true and latch without dragging. Frames are set and braced before the board goes on so the opening does not move.

Matt and Ante started AM Drywall & Construction in 2025 after years of working together on the same sites, bringing over 40 years of combined experience in the trade between them.
It is an owner operated business, which means the person who walks your project, quotes it and answers your calls is also on site while the work happens. Having worked both directly for homeowners and as a sub to general contractors, we understand the schedule pressure on a commercial site and the fact that on a house, someone is trying to live there while we work.
FULLY INSURED
Fully insured with liability coverage in place, so general contractors can clear us for site and homeowners are covered if something goes wrong. Certificates available on request.
WORKING AT HEIGHTS
Working at Heights certified under Ontario Ministry of Labour requirements, covering ladders, scaffolding and elevated work. It is the certification most commercial sites check before letting anyone through the gate.
MOBILE ELEVATED PLATFORM
MEWP trained for scissor lift and boom lift operation, which is what high ceilings, atriums and warehouse work require. Tall commercial spaces get done safely instead of off makeshift staging.
